To gain practical experience and do more and more field work.
Describe your first day (in 100 words):
My first day in RLEK and the Commission went in knowing the organisation well and learn the way it works. I was a bit nervous asking the associates about the work at first but they all were very friendly and helped me a lot to gain actual field knowledge. It took me time to understand the whole process but the learning experience was amazing.
How would you describe the culture within the organization (ways in which co-workers interact or don’t interact) and how does this fit with your “ideal” employer?
The culture within the organisation was good people discuss each point about the work with each other and communicates in a very friendly way. No one in the organization felt left alone without any work.
What new skills have you learned since beginning your experience?
How to tackle the environment during the field work and to work in a team.
What types of tasks did you discover that you enjoy or excel at completing?
Research and making things work in a systematic way.
What tasks were less attractive or fulfilling?
Travelling a lot during field visit.
What about your internship do you absolutely despise/hate or leaves a bad taste in your mouth?
My internship gave me a good learning experience in which sometimes i felt good and sometimes frustrated but as we all know “No pain no gain”.
If you were running this organization, what would you change and why?
I’ll try to give more liberty to my employees to take necessary actions and measures which are required for the growth of organisation.
How does this internship relate to your long-term educational or career goals?
I think this internship can help anyone to learn the reality of life. If you want to learn something start from the bottom and you’ll learn everything eventually.
What recommendations would you give to other students doing an internship at this organization?
I’ll recommend First and Second year students to go and learn as much as they can from this internship.
