Assessing the Menstrual Health of Tribal Adolescent Girls in Gujarat

Through this Research Brief, we seek to provide a holistic view of the problems faced by tribal adolescent girls during their menstruation and further investigate the causes related to their higher vulnerability towards encountering Reproductive and Urinary Tract Infections. The Report additionally reflects on the impact of societal norms and community attitudes towards menstruation and their adverse effect on the health of tribal adolescent girls. (more…)

Workshop on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights

We conducted a training cum sensitization Workshop for the male and female students of Gujarat National Law University on the subject of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in India.

The session focused on addressing the context of sexual and gender identities, roles, orientations, behaviors and attitudes that affect and impact our young population’s sexual and reproductive well being. It also equipped the students with the skills to understand and further impart comprehensive sexuality education. (more…)

The lack of understanding and knowledge of Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) in India perpetuates myths and has propagated a culture of ignorance on the subject of menstrual health and well being. The Period Buddy Project Session at Adalaj Village, Gujarat

LexQuest Foundation along with The Legal Services Committee (under the aegis of the Center for Law and Society) of the Gujarat National Law University, conducted its first menstrual health management awareness-cum-training session at Adalaj Village in Gujarat. We engaged with the 6th grade students of the Government Girls’ School at the village. In addition to distributing sanitary pads to the class, the workshop focused on the point of menstrual health, hygiene, nutrition along with discussing the biological and psycho-social aspects related to menstruation.
