Today, a great number of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), functional throughout the world, are providing a variety of services for humanitarian causes.

Since I got the golden opportunity of working with an NGO, I would love to share my experience with all of you. Importance of an NGO Internship in the Life of a Law Student

Possessing knowledge about something and practically experiencing the same are two entirely distinct things and both demand expertise in their individual capacity. Institutions, organizations, academics, etc. are some sources for gaining theoretical and practical knowledge. When it comes to law, stark realities of the hinterlands are entirely different from what is presented to us, through the written word. For example, we study in law that the ignorance of it is no excuse; the reality is that a major part of our population, especially the ones living in the aforementioned hinderlands are hardly aware about the rights and duties bestowed on them by law or about the responsibility of the State towards them. Miles To Go Before You Go Green: A critical analysis of Green Highways (Plantation & Maintenance) Policy, 2015

Green Highway is a new concept that includes a roadway design integrating the functionalities of transport and ecological sustainability. The Green Highway Policy is an ambitious plan by the Government of India, to transform the country’s 96,000 National Highways with green cover which makes it mandatory to allocate an amount running to 1% of the total cost of the road project (TPC) for plantation. The entire exercise to plan, design and construct the roadways would be executed with an environmental approach. (more…)
