We are organizing a virtual policy awareness and deliberation session on the subject of Social Policies for Migrant Labour in India.
Date: 30th May 2020.
Timings: 5:00 p.m. to 5:40 p.m.
Event Portal: Zoom
As a fall out of the recent pandemic, the life of migrant laborers has become a daily challenge accompanied by constant struggle due to the poor access to basic amenities. Given the huge economic cost of the COVID-19 outbreak, while the migrant laborers are already struggling to sustain, they also run the risk of losing any source of income or livelihood in the near future as a long term implication of the lockdown. In this backdrop, policymakers and scholars have been advocating for better social policies for the unorganized sector workforce in India. However, we still need to assess the possible roadblocks for such policies and their status on the government’s agenda.
Join us for an online discussion with experts to understand the prevalent reality better and address the concern for the most disadvantaged class of our citizens.
Certificate of Participation will be provided to all attendees.
