As a part of The Right to Menstrual Health Project, we conducted a Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) session for girls of Class 7th and 8th at the Adalaj Village in Gujarat. Our team was joined by the students of Gujarat National Law University who were earlier trained by us in conducting such sessions for adolescent girls.
In addition to distributing sanitary pads acquired through our crowd funding resources, the sessions used demonstrative and interactive models to drive home the point of menstrual health, hygiene and nutrition. The girls were encouraged to demand things that aid a healthy menstrual cycle and educate women around them about the significance of menstrual hygiene management.
Additionally, educative posters about nutrition and sanitation during menstruation, were put up in their classes, for their reference. Our team also distributed sanitary napkins to the 6th Standard Girls we had reached out to, in January 2019.
